Professor Linz´s work covers, among other fields, the study of the working and stability of democracies, authoritarian and fascist regimes, transition to democracy, electoral attitudes and political parties. His research has had a major international impact and have influenced the progress of social sciences, and his teaching work has been decisive for the progress made nowadays by sociology in Latin-American countries.
