Director

Director of the Prince of Asturias Foundation

Teresa Sanjurjo was born in 1972 in Madrid. She is a specialist in the management of non-profit organisations and their legal and financial framework. Since December 2009 she has directed the Prince of Asturias Foundation.

Having graduated in Law from the Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE) and obtaining the title of Legal Adviser in 1995 she completed further law and management studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Management of Foundations and other non-profit Entities from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). In 2007 she completed the General Management Program at the IESE Business School.

Teresa Sanjurjo joined the Spanish Federation of Foundations, and became Technical Director in 2001. Since then she has worked as a professor for the master's degree in Management of Foundations and other non-profit Entities and various other courses and seminars.

In 2003, the Spanish Confederation of Foundations united with the Centre of Foundations, forming the Spanish Association of Foundations, of which Teresa Sanjurjo was Director-General until her appointment as Director of the Prince of Asturias Foundation.

Throughout these years of professional and personal dedication to the Spanish foundations, Teresa Sanjurjo has participated in several forums and congresses and has collaborated in specialised publications. In addition to this, she has been a member of the Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Directors (AED), a member of the Editorial Board of the Revista Española del Tercer Sector (Spanish Journal of the Third Sector, The Luis Vives Foundation) and a member of the Editorial Board of the Foundations Law Yearbook.

Up
