"We are honoured to accept this prestigious award on behalf of our 187 member National Societies and 13 million volunteers who serve vulnerable people worldwide as part of the work of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Together, we aim to tackle the major humanitarian and development challenges of this decade. Together, we are committed to saving lives and changing minds.

Through our humanitarian work, we aim to strengthen community resilience, respond to disasters and foster a culture of peace around the world. This recognition of our work from the Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation is a great honour which we are proud to share with our Movement partners"
