59 Fundación Princesa de Asturias MEMORIA 2017 PREMIO AL PUEBLO EJEMPLAR DE ASTURIAS www.fpa.es La localidad distinguida con el Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias que otorga la Fundación recibió la tradicional visita de SS. MM. los Reyes el sábado posterior a la entrega de los Premios Princesa de Asturias. Este galardón reconoce “al pueblo, aldea, núcleo de población, espacio paisajístico o grupo humano del Principado de Asturias que haya destacado de modo notable en la defensa y conservación de su entorno natural, ambiental, de su patrimonio histórico, cultural o artístico, en iniciativas de impulso económico y social o en la realización de obras comunales u otras manifestaciones de solidaridad sobresalientes”. Tras el saludo a las autoridades, SS. MM. los Reyes iniciaron la visita a Poreñu en una ería de hórreos y paneras, donde se detuvieron ante un taller de madera y taracea para presenciar las labores de este tradicional oficio. Continuaron el recorrido por el pueblo con una parada en el mercado solidario y asistieron a una recreación de la tradicional sextaferia, día en el que los habitantes dedican su tiempo a labores comunitarias. Seguidamente, los Reyes accedieron al recinto de las antiguas escuelas donde se encuentra la sede de la asociación vecinal La Capilla, acondicionado por los vecinos para tal fin. D. Felipe y D.ª Letizia contemplaron una selección de piezas vinculadas con la labranza e integradas en la exposición etnográfica que, fruto de una iniciativa vecinal, permitió rescatar aquellos elementos almacenados en desvanes y hórreos. A continuación, Sus Majestades plantaron un manzano para seguidamente descubrir la placa conmemorativa. Posteriormente se dirigieron hacia la Fuente del Pontón, deteniéndose ante un taller de piedra. Tras las explicaciones del cantero, los Reyes se detuvieron frente a una exhibición de reses vacunas galardonadas con premios del sector ganadero. Seguidamente accedieron al escenario para la lectura de discursos y entrega del galardón, que culminó con unas palabras de S. M. el Rey y el himno de Asturias a The locality distinguished with the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award granted by the Foundation received the traditional visit of TM The King and Queen on the Saturday following the Princess of Asturias Awards. The Award distinguishes “the town, village, population centre, scenic area or group of people in the Principality of Asturias that has stood out in a notable way in defending and conserving its natural or environmental setting, or its historical, cultural or artistic heritage in initiatives aimed at boosting the economy or in the carrying out of communal works or other such outstanding displays of solidarity.” After being greeted by the authorities, TM The King and Queen began the visit to Poreñu on the commons where a number of raised granaries-cum-storehouses called hórreos and paneras stand, pausing before a wood and marquetry workshop to witness the work of this traditional craft. They then continued their tour through the village, making a stop at the solidarity market, and attended the recreation of a traditional sextaferia , a day on which the local inhabitants dedicate their time to community work. After that, The King and Queen visited the former schools which now house La Capilla neighbourhood association, refurbished by the villagers for that very purpose. King Felipe and Queen Letizia viewed a selection of farm objects forming part of the ethnographic exhibition that, as a result of a neighbourhood initiative, allowed objects stored in attics and hórreos to be salvaged. Their Majesties then planted an apple tree and unveiled a commemorative plaque. Later, they continued on to Fuente del Pontón, pausing before a stone workshop. After explanations by the stonemason, The King and Queen stopped in front of an exhibition of award-winning cattle.
