Ladies and Gentlemen,
We Spaniards are experiencing a decisive time in our history. We are each called to give the best
of ourselves. As heir to the Throne, I performmy duties with enthusiasm, pride and full confidence
in our future; and I strive —as I have always have— to serve the general interests of Spain with a
will and all-embracing spirit. It is certainly my obligation, my duty, but also my conviction. This is
what I think, what I feel and what I believe in.
