Princess of Asturias Awards 10/18/2015
Representations of organizations to receive awards at the Awards Ceremony

The 2015 Princess of Asturias Laureates will begin to arrive in Asturias from Monday 19th onwards. The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo on 23rd October. Leonardo Padura, Princess of Asturias Award for Literature, will be the first to arrive.
In addition to featuring in different cultural events throughout the week, this year’s Laureates will hold several meetings with the press, as detailed below. The times of arrival and press conferences still to be confirmed will be announced in the coming days.
Jimmy Wales (USA), founder of Wikipedia, and Patricio Lorente (Argentina) and Lila Tretikov (Russia), president and executive director of the Wikimedia Foundation, respectively, will collect the award on behalf of Wikipedia, Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation. They will be accompanied on stage by volunteers Lourdes Cardinal (Spain), Ravan Al-Taie (Iraq) and Jeevan Jose (India).
The Hospitaller Order of St John of God, bestowed with the Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, will be represented at the ceremony by Brother Jesús Etayo Arrondo, Superior General of the Order, who will be accompanied by the following persons:
- Pascal Ahodegnon, fourth General Councillor of the General Curia in Rome.
- María Isabel Herrero Panadero, co-worker and doctor at the St John of God Residence, Seville.
- Guillermo Vázquez Mata, international volunteer in Africa, who has worked there during the Ebola epidemic.
- Marina Aliva Miranda Blanco, user of the Maritime Sanatorium, Gijon, who will be accompanied by her mother.
- María Ángeles Blanco Infiesto, mother of user Marina Aliva Miranda.

INFORMATION OF INTEREST:

- All press conferences will be held in the Reconquista Hotel’s screening room (“Salón de Proyecciones”), the entrance to which is in Arquitecto Reguera Street.

ARRIVAL OF THE LAUREATES
MONDAY, 19th OCTOBER
- Leonardo Padura, Princess of Asturias Award for Literature. Around 8:35pm.
TUESDAY, 20th OCTOBER
- Jesús Etayo Arrondo, Superior General of the Hospitaller Order of St John of God, bestowed with the Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, and Pascal Ahodegnon, fourth General Councillor of the Order’s General Curia in Rome, are scheduled to arrive at 3:15pm.
- Jennifer Doudna, bestowed with the Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research, will get to Oviedo around 5:30pm.
- Emilio Lledó, Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, will arrive at the Reconquista Hotel at 8:00pm.
WEDNESDAY, 21st OCTOBER
- Francis Ford Coppola, Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts, will get to Oviedo some time on Wednesday.
- Esther Duflo, Princess of Asturias Award for Social Sciences, will arrive at the Reconquista Hotel in the late evening.

- 12:30am. Esther Duflo, Francis Ford Coppola, Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts.
