Princess of Asturias Awards 10/10/2018

The Laureates for the 2018 Princess of Asturias Awards, whose Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, 19th October in the Campoamor Theatre, Oviedo, will begin arriving in the Principality on Sunday 14th October. Alma Guillermoprieto, Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and, will be the first to do so.
In addition to featuring in different cultural events throughout the week, this year’s Laureates will hold several meetings with the press, as detailed below.
On behalf of the NGO Amref Health Africa (Global) and Amref Health África (Spain), Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation, Githinji Gitahi, Group CEO of Amref Health Africa (Global), Álvaro Rengifo, Chair of Amref Health África (Spain) and Nice Nailantei Leng’ete Ambassador of Amref Health Africa (Global) and advocate against female genital mutilation, will be accepting the award.
Martin Scorsese, Princess of Asturias Award for Arts; Michael J. Sandel, Princess of Asturias Award for Social Sciences; Reinhold Messner and Krzysztof Wielicki, Princess of Asturias Award for Sports; Svante Pääbo, Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research; and Sylvia A. Earle, Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, will all be present at the ceremony in the Campoamor Theatre to accept their awards.
