Princess of Asturias Awards 09/27/2021

Press/Media Passes may now be obtained for the Princess of Asturias Awards, currently in their forty-first edition

The deadline for obtaining passes is Friday 15th October

The presentation of the awards will presided over by Their Majesties The King and Queen of Spain, and will count on the presence of TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía. The event will be take place at 6:30pm on Friday 22nd October in the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo.

An accredited press/media pass must be obtained from the Princess of Asturias Foundation to provide press coverage of the presentation of the awards and of the programme of activities that will take place throughout Awards Week. The deadline for applying for an accredited press/media pass is Friday 15th October.

The cultural programme that is organized around the Awards Ceremony will also be adapted to the special health circumstances of the present moment, adjusting its formats and audiences, thus allowing the formulated prevention plan to be fulfilled with the maximum of guarantees.

Security regulations require supplying the full name, ID card or passport number, and date and place of birth of each person applying for an accredited pass, as well as their function (press or media journalist or technician). Said information may be sent to the Foundation via email to the following address: .

Furthermore, all those applying for a pass must have their information and photograph validated in the Foundation press data base between 18th and 22nd October, any time between 9:00am and 8:00pm. If not registered, a new photograph must be taken. The press room is located at the Hotel Barceló Oviedo Cervantes (Calle Cervantes, 13, Oviedo). Press/media passes will be made available as of Tuesday 19th October.

All informative material will be made available only in digital format via the Online Press Room on the institution’s website (www.fpa.es).

The limited space of some of the venues where the events will take place could lead to limiting access to a certain number of journalists (press pools) at certain times.The official audience with the Laureates and the presentation of the awards will have restricted coverage in order to facilitate the work of the press.The Foundation will provide further information on other possible events with limited access and on how to obtain images of these.

The authorized press office has telephone lines and an internet connection available to the press.

Each Princess of Asturias Award comprises a Joan Miró sculpture symbolizing the Award, a diploma, an insignia and a cash prize of €50 000.
