The Princess of Asturias Foundation

The Laureates for the 2019 Princess of Asturias Awards, whose Awards Ceremony will take place on 18th October in the Campoamor Theatre, Oviedo, will begin arriving in the Principality on Monday 14th. Siri Hustvedt, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature, will be the first to do so.

Besides featuring in different cultural events throughout the week, this year’s Laureates will hold several meetings with the press, as detailed below.

Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz will collect the award on behalf of the City of Gdansk, Princess of Asturias Award for Concord. In the case of the of Prado Museum, Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, the award will be collected by Javier Solana, President of the Prado Museum's Royal Board of Trustees, Miguel Falomir, director of the gallery, and Laura Fernández Díaz, on behalf of the museum’s staff.

Peter Brook, Princess of Asturias Laureate for the Arts; Alejandro Portes, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Social Sciences; Salman Khan, founder of the Khan Academy, Princess of Asturias Laureate for International Cooperation; Lindsey Vonn, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Sports; and Sandra Myrns Díaz and Joanne Chory, joint Princess of Asturias Laureates for Technical and Scientific Research, will also be present at the ceremony in the Campoamor Theatre to collect their awards.

MONDAY, 14th OCTOBER

Siri Hustvedt, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature, will arrive at the Reconquista Hotel at 9:25am.
Salman Khan, founder of the Khan Academy, Princess of Asturias Laureate for International Cooperation, is scheduled to arrive at 3:05pm.
Joanne Chory, joint Princess of Asturias Laureate for Technical and Scientific Research, will also arrive at the Reconquista Hotel at 3:05pm.
Sandra Myrna Díaz, joint Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research, will arrive around 5:35pm.
Peter Brook, Princess of Asturias Laureate for the Arts, is also scheduled to arrive at 5:35pm.

WEDNESDAY, 16th OCTOBER

Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of the City of Gdansk, Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, is scheduled to be officially received at 11:15am.
Alejandro Portes, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Social Sciences, will arrive around 12:30pm.
Miguel Falomir, Director of the Prado Museum, Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, will arrive at the Reconquista Hotel at 1:30pm.

THURSDAY, 17th OCTOBER

Lindsey Vonn, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Sports, is scheduled to arrive at 10:45am.
Javier Solana, President of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Prado Museum, Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, is scheduled to arrive at 1:30pm.
