Arrival of the 2009 Prince of Asturias Awards laureate

The Laureates for the XXIX edition of the Prince of Asturias Awards, which holds its grand presentation ceremony on Friday 23rd October in the Campoamor Theatre, began arriving in Oviedo on Tuesday 20th October.

TUESDAY, 20th OCTOBER 

- Martin Cooper, Prince of Asturias Award Laureate for Technical and Scientific Research, will arrive at 10.15 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, 21st OCTOBER

- Ismaíl Kadaré, Prince of Asturias Awards laureate for Literature, will arrive at 3.20 p.m.

- Sir David Attenborough, Prince of Asturias Awards laureate for Social Sciences, will arrive at 5.35 p.m.

- José Narro Robles, Vice-Chancellor of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Prince of Asturias Awards laureate for Communication and Humanities, will arrive at 7.35 p.m.

THURSDAY, 22nd OCTOBER

- Raymond Tomlinson, Prince of Asturias Awards laureate for Technical and Scientific Research, will arrive in Oviedo at 10.25 a.m.

- Walter Momper, current President of the Berlin Parliament and Mayor of the city when the Wall fell in 1989 and until 1991 will arrive at 11.40 a.m.

- Klaus Wowereit, current Governing Mayor of Berlin, Prince of Asturias Awards Laureate for Concord, will arrive at 1.35 p.m.

- Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, Prince of Asturias Awards laureate for International Cooperation, at 1.35 p.m.

- Eberhard Diepgen, Mayor of Western Berlin between 1984 and 1989 and Mayor of Berlin between 1991 and 2001, at 3.20 p.m.

- Yelena Isinbayeva, Prince of Asturias Awards laureate for Sports, at 9,15 p.m.
