Princess of Asturias Awards 10/17/2013

Distribution of tickets

The Foundation is to make tickets for the following events available to the general public:

- Tribute to Michael Haneke.

- Annie Leibovitz. A talk about her work.

- Final rehearsal for the XXII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert.

The Prince of Asturias Foundation will make tickets available to the general public for some of the events featuring the 2013 Prince of Asturias Awards Laureates during their stay in Asturias. Several of these events may also be followed via streaming on the Foundation's website.

 Tribute to Michael Haneke

The tribute to Michael Haneke, 2013 Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts, will take place on Wednesday 23rd October at the Jovellanos Theatre (Gijón) at 7:30pm. The doors to the Jovellanos Theatre will close at 7:15pm.

The Prince of Asturias Foundation will make over 750 seats available to the public, which may be collected from the theatre's box office from Saturday, 19th October on, from 12 noon to 2:00pm and from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. A maximum of two tickets will be given out per person.

Annie Leibovitz. A talk about her work

The American photographer Annie Leibovitz will give a talk about her work on Thursday, 24th October in the Niemeyer Centre Dome (Avilés) at 7:00pm.

The Foundation will make 260 seats available for the general public: Tickets (two per person) may be collected from the Niemeyer Centre box office from Saturday, 19th October on, from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

Final rehearsal for the XXII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert

The final rehearsal for the XXII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert, to be held the following day under the presidency of TRH The Prince and Princess of Asturias, will take place at 8:30pm on Wednesday, 23rd October. The rehearsal, at the Prince Felipe Auditorium, will be open to the public.

Tickets will be made available at the auditorium box office on Tuesday and Wednesday, 22nd and 23rd October, from 10:00am to 2:00pm and from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A maximum of two tickets per person will be given out until all seats are taken.

Live streaming broadcast

The Foundation will broadcast the following events via streaming on its website for all those who cannot get to the places where they are to be held:

WEDNESDAY, 23rd OCTOBER

7:30pm  "People who Write, People who Read". A meeting between Antonio Muñoz Molina and members of reading groups from Asturias and Cantabria at the Congress Centre (Oviedo).

7:30pm  Tribute to Michael Haneke. A meeting between the Austrian filmmaker and the public at the Jovellanos Theatre (Gijón).

THURSDAY, 24th OCTOBER

12 noon "Scientific Meeting" with Peter Higgs, François Englert and CERN at the University of Oviedo Faculty of Sciences (Oviedo).

FRIDAY, 25th OCTOBER

12:30pm  Audience of the Laureates with TRH The Prince and Princess of Asturias.

6:30pm  Prince of Asturias Awards Ceremony.
