“Symphony Concert”
Date and time: Thursday, 15 October 2020. 08:00PM h.
Place: Sánchez del Río / Canons Building. La Vega Arms Factory (Calle Marcelino Fernández, Oviedo).
A concert conducted by Andrea Morricone and Óliver Díaz, in which the Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra (OSPA) will perform works by the composers jointly conferred with the 2020 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts. These composers’ works include some of the most iconic musical compositions of the silver screen. The repertoire will include compositions by Ennio Morricone such as “The Ecstasy of Gold” from the movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and “Gabriel’s Oboe” from The Mission, which will be conducted by his son Andrea; as well as the main themes of the films Jaws and Star Wars, by John Williams, which will be performed under the baton of Óliver Díaz. The concert will feature the participation of violinist Jesús Reina.
