Distribution of tickets

2014 Prince of Asturias Awards Week.

The Foundation is to make tickets available to the general public for the following events: 

- “Breakfast Meetings with History”. Conversations with Joseph Pérez

- Mafaldologists Gathering

- Meeting with Caddy Adzuba

- Final rehearsal for the XXIIII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert

The Prince of Asturias Foundation will make tickets available to the general public for some of the events featuring the 2014 Prince of Asturias Laureates during their stay in Asturias. Several of these events may also be followed via streaming on the Foundation’s website.

“Breakfast Meetings with History”. A series of conversations with Joseph Pérez

The series of “Breakfast Meetings with History”. Conversations with Joseph Pérez, includes the following talks:

“Charles V, the Lucky Heir”: Tuesday, 21st October, at the 10:30am in the Casa de los Hevia mansion (Villaviciosa).

“Statesmen: from Cisneros to Jovellanos”: Wednesday, 22nd October, at 10:30am in the Jovellanos Birthplace Museum (Gijón).

“Of Jews and Inquisitions”: Thursday, 25th October at 10:30am in the University of Oviedo Historic Building Library.

Admission to these events is limited to 50 attendees. Tickets by strict order of registration on the Prince of Asturias Foundation website (www.fpa.es) from Monday, 13th October starting 10:00am.

 

Mafaldologists Gathering

The Tribute to Joaquín S. Lavado Tejón, aka Quino, Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday, 21st October in the Filarmónica Theatre (Oviedo). Hosted by Álex Grijelmo, Jury member for the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature, the event will feature journalists Mara Torres and Marta Ferrer, writer and translator Rodrigo Fresán and cartoonists Gallego & Rey, Peridis and Puebla.

Two tickets per person may be collected from the right-hand box office at the Campoamor Theatre from 6:00pm on 15th October onwards.

Meeting with Caddy Adzuba

The meeting with Caddy Adzuba, Prince of Asturias Award for Concord, will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday, 21st October in the Palacio Valdés Theatre (Avilés). The event, chaired by journalist Angels Barceló, will include the screening of the short film “Pourquoi?” by Ouka Leele, Jury member for the Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts. Two tickets per person may be collected from the “Casa Municipal de Cultura” in Avilés from 16th October on.

Final rehearsal for the XXIIII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert

The final rehearsal for the XXIII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert, to be held the following day under the presidency of TM The King and Queen of Spain, will take place at 8:30pm on Wednesday, 22nd October. The rehearsal, at the Prince Felipe Auditorium, will be open to the public.

A maximum of two tickets will be made available per person. Tickets will be distributed from the Auditorium box offices on Tuesday and Wednesday, 21st and 22nd October, from 10:00am to 2:00pm and from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Streaming broadcast

The Foundation will broadcast the following events via streaming on its website for all those who cannot get to the places where they are to be held:

TUESDAY, 21st OCTOBER

7:30pm “Mafaldologists Gathering” Tribute to Joaquín S. Lavado Tejón, aka Quino, in the Filarmónica Theatre (Oviedo).

7:30pm Meeting with Caddy Adzuba, in the Palacio Valdés Theatre (Avilés).

WEDNESDAY, 22nd OCTOBER

7:30pm “Sentences in Black and White” Meeting between John Banville, Prince of Asturias Award for Literature, and members of book clubs from Asturias, Galicia and Cantabria, in the Jovellanos Theatre (Gijón).

THURSDAY, 23rd OCTOBER

6:00pm Debate entitled “Architecture: the future in construction” between Frank O. Gehry, 2014 Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts, and Rafael Moneo, 2012 Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts, at the LABoral Centre for Art and Industrial Creation (Gijón).

FRIDAY, 24th OCTOBER

12:30pm Audience of the Laureates with TM the King and Queen of Spain. 6:30pm Prince of Asturias Awards Ceremony.
