“The Sen Perspective” film cycle. Projection of Bicycle Thieves

This gem of neorealism portrays a worker's struggle to better his standard of living, reflecting the enormous inequalities in a Europe ravaged by war. Taking this iconic film as a reference, the audience will be invited to reflect on the concepts of capabilities and freedom, key elements in Amartya Sen's thinking. The film, from 1948 and in black and white, will be screened in its original language with Spanish subtitles and is suitable for all audiences.
