MEMORIA 2014 OTRAS ACTIVIDADES. ÁREA MUSICAL

de Siero, Villaviciosa y Oviedo. Las tres formaciones
ofrecieron conciertos el 21 de junio para celebrar
el Día Internacional de la Música.
En el mes de septiembre, con motivo del 150
Aniversario de Cruz Roja Española –institución
integrada en el Movimiento Internacional de la Cruz
Roja, galardonado, junto a la Media Luna Roja,
con el Premio de Cooperación Internacional 2012–,
el Coro de la Fundación y la Orquesta Sinfónica del
Principado de Asturias ofrecieron un concierto
en el que se interpretaron fragmentos de óperas
románticas de Bizet, Verdi y Wagner, bajo la dirección
del maestro Oliver Díaz.
El año se cerró con el tradicional concierto
“Europa canta a la Navidad.
El Mesías
” de Haendel,
en el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe de Oviedo, obra
que el Coro de la Fundación viene interpretando
desde 1985. En esta ocasión Eduardo López Banzo
fue el encargado de su dirección musical.
XXIII Concierto Premios Príncipe de Asturias
SS.MM. los Reyes presidieron el XXIII Concierto
Premios Príncipe de Asturias, organizado
por la Fundación en colaboración con Cajastur,
la víspera de la entrega de los galardones
en el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe de Oviedo. El Coro

In September, the Foundation Choir and the
Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra (OSPA)
performed fragments from romantic operas by Bizet,
Verdi and Wagner under the baton of Maestro Oliver
Díaz in a concert to mark the celebration of the 150th
anniversary of the Spanish Red Cross, an organization
forming part of the International Red Cross
Movement, jointly bestowed with the 2012 Prince
of Asturias Award for International Cooperation
together with the Red Crescent.
The Foundation Choir closed the year at the
Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo with the
traditional concert, “Europe Hails Christmas.
The Messiah
” by Handel, a work they have been
performing since 1985. On this occasion, Eduardo
López Banzo was responsible for the musical direction
of the concert.
XXIII Prince of Asturias Awards Concert

and Queen presided over the XXIII Prince of Asturias
Awards Concert in the Prince Felipe Auditorium
in Oviedo, organized by the Foundation in
