El certamen congregó a setecientos artistas de veinte países que, a lo largo de tres semanas, participaron en cuarenta eventos que incluyeron conciertos, conferencias y clases magistrales. El concierto inaugural tuvo lugar en la iglesia de San Ignacio de Loyola. La víspera, el Coro actuó en el Seminario Conciliar de Bogotá. Al concierto y a la recepción ofrecida por la Embajada de España asistieron, entre otra personalidades, Manuel Patarroyo, Premio Príncipe de Asturias de Investigación Científica y Técnica 1994, y Carmen Millán, directora del Instituto Caro y Cuervo, Premio Príncipe de Asturias de Comunicación y Humanidades 1999. 7th International Festival of Sacred Music in Bogotá The Foundation Choir opened the 7th International Festival of Sacred Music in Bogotá, one of the most important gatherings in Latin America devoted to spirituality, music and world cultures. The festival brought together seven hundred performers from twenty different countries, who participated in forty events spread over three weeks that included concerts, talks and master classes. The opening concert was held in the Church of San Ignacio. The day before, the Choir performed at the Conciliar Seminary in Bogotá. The concert and the reception offered by the Spanish Embassy were attended by Manuel Patarroyo, 1994 Prince of Asturias Laureate for Technical and Scientific Research, and Carmen Millán, Director of the Instituto Caro y Cuervo, 1999 Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, among other personages.
