Furthermore, she does so using fiction and the essay, as an intellectual concerned with the fundamental issues of contemporary ethics.” Premio Princesa de Asturias de las Letras Princess of Asturias Award for Literature SIRI HUSTVEDT Siri Hustvedt (Minnesota, EE.UU., 1955) se licenció en Historia en el St. Olaf College, doctorándose en 1986 en Literatura Inglesa por la Universidad de Columbia. Experta en neurociencia y psicoanálisis, en 1982 publicó una colección de poesía, Reading to You . Estudiosa e intelectual que se ocupa de las cuestiones fundamentales de la ética contemporánea y la epistemología y conocida también por su militancia feminista, ha contribuido con su obra al diálogo interdisciplinario entre las ciencias y las humanidades. Su colección de conferencias y artículos pronunciadas y publicados respectivamente entre 2005 y 2011, Vivir, pensar, mirar (2013) es una muestra de su profundo aprendizaje en varias disciplinas. Traducida a más de treinta idiomas, publicó en 1992 su primera novela, Los ojos vendados y con su tercera obra, Todo cuanto amé (2003), consiguió renombre internacional. En 2010 publicó el ensayo La mujer temblorosa o la historia de mis nervios . Otras obras suyas son El hechizo de Lily Dahl , Elegía para un Americano , El verano sin hombres , Un mundo deslumbrante , Leer para ti , En lontananza y Una súplica para Eros . Su última colección de ensayos publicada es La mujer que mira a los hombres que miran a las mujeres (2017). Doctora honoris causa por la Universidad Stendhal de Grenoble (2015), en 2004 recibió el Premio de los Libreros de Quebec y en 2012 el Premio Internacional Gabarrón de Pensamiento y Humanidades. Siri Hustvedt (Minnesota, USA, 1955) graduated in History from St. Olaf College, obtaining her PhD in English Literature from Columbia University in 1986. An expert in neuroscience and psychoanalysis, she published a collection of poetry in 1982 entitled Reading to You . A scholar and intellectual who addresses the fundamental issues of contemporary ethics and epistemology, as well as being known for her feminist militancy, her work has contributed to interdisciplinary dialogue between the sciences and the humanities. Her collection of lectures and articles delivered and published between 2005 and 2011, Living, Thinking, Looking (2012), is a sample of her profound scholarship in various disciplines. Translated into more than thirty languages, Hustvedt published her first novel, The Blindfold , in 1992 and achieved international renown with her third book, What I Loved (2003). In 2009, she published the essay The Shaking Woman or A History of My Nerves . Other works of hers include: The Enchantment of Lily Dahl , The Sorrows of an American , The Summer Without Men , The Blazing World , Reading to You , Yonde r and A Plea for Eros . Her latest published collection of essays is entitled A Woman Looking at Men Looking at Women (2016). Holder of an honorary degree from Stendhal University, Grenoble (2015), she received the 2004 Quebec Booksellers Award and the 2012 Gabarron International Award for Thought and Humanities.
