AWARDS WEEK Toma la Palabra Taking the Floor Las plantas al rescate • Número de centros participantes: 16 • Número de cómics: 62 • Número de alumnos participantes: 218 Destinada a estudiantes de ESO y Bachillerato, esta actividad animaba a conocer el trabajo de Joanne Chory sobre el desarrollo de superplantas y su posible contribución a la disminución de los efectos del cambio climático y a exponerlo en formato de cómic. Ambas galardonadas visitaron una muestra de estos trabajos que se ubicó junto al jardín sensorial creado en la Fábrica de Armas de La Vega. Plants to the Rescue • Number of participating schools: 16 • Number of comics: 62 • Number of participating students: 218 Aimed at secondary school and pre-university students, this activity encouraged them to get to know the work of Joanne Chory on the development of superplants and their possible contribution to reducing the effects of climate change, and to illustrate this knowledge in the form of a comic. Both Laureates visited an exhibition of these projects located beside the sensory garden created in La Vega Arms Factory. Hojas del paraíso • Número de centros participantes: 21 • Número de herbarios: 33 • Número de alumnos participantes: 948 Dirigida a alumnos de Primaria, en esta actividad se proponía a los estudiantes que se acercaran al trabajo de Sandra Myrna Díaz y su defensa de la preservación de la diversidad de las plantas, para lo que se les planteó la posibilidad de conocer el patrimonio natural de su zona a través de la elaboración de un herbario. Leaves of Paradise • Number of participating schools: 21 • Number of herbaria: 33 • Number of participating students: 948 The goal of this activity for primary schoolchildren was for them to get to know the work of Sandra Myrna Díaz and her defence of the preservation of the diversity of plants. These pupils were therefore offered the possibility of discovering the natural heritage of their area via the creation of a herbarium.
