60 Princess of Asturias Foundation ANNUAL REPORT 2019 EXEMPLARY TOWN OF ASTURIAS AWARD X Encuentro de Pueblos Ejemplares Llastres acogió el pasado 22 de junio el X Encuentro de Pueblos Ejemplares con un acto conmemorativo organizado por la Fundación. Esta localidad recibió en 2010 el Premio al observar las vistas al Picu Urriellu y, seguidamente, S.A.R. la Princesa de Asturias descubrió la placa conmemorativa del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar. Sus Majestades los Reyes de España y Sus Altezas Reales visitaron también el único llagar de la localidad y continuaron el recorrido por el núcleo primitivo de Asiegu, que cuenta con relevantes construcciones de la arquitectura tradicional asturiana, a una de las cuales accedieron para observar las vistas desde el balcón-corredor. Además del saludo a un grupo de vecinas del pueblo, que les obsequiaron con una muestra de tapetes realizados a mano por ellas mismas, mantuvieron un encuentro con los niños de la localidad, previo a la interpretación, por parte del grupo folclórico Corri-Corri del baile del mismo nombre, declarado Bien de Interés Cultural de carácter inmaterial. Antes de su visita a la iglesia de San Miguel de Asiegu, templo originario del siglo xvi , presenciaron en el exterior la frenda del ramu , toque tradicional de pandereta que se hace el día de la fiesta de San Roque. A continuación, tuvo lugar el acto institucional de entrega del galardón, durante el cual, tanto S.M. el Rey como S. A. R. la Princesa de Asturias pronunciaron discursos que contaron con la calurosa acogida de todos los presentes. 10th Meeting of Exemplary Towns Llastres hosted the 10th Meeting of Exemplary Towns on 22nd June, holding a commemorative event organized by the Foundation. This locality received the 2010 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award. Urriellu, after which HRH The Princess of Asturias unveiled a plaque commemorating the conferral of the Exemplary Town Award. Their Majesties The King and Queen and Their Royal Highnesses also visited the only existing cider mill in the village and then continued the tour of the old part of the village of Asiegu, which boasts notable examples of traditional Asturian architecture. They entered one such building to enjoy the views from its running balcony. In addition to greeting a group of village residents who presented them with a sample of decorative table clothes that they themselves had made by hand, they met with the children of the village prior to the performance, by the Corri-Corri folk group, of the dance of the same name, a listed Intangible Asset of Cultural Interest. Before their visit to the Church of San Miguel in Asiegu, dating from the 16th century, they witnessed the ofrenda del ramu (offering of bread loaves), with traditional tambourine accompaniment, that takes place on the Feast of San Roque. This was followed by the institutional bestowal of the Award, during which both HM The King and HRH The Princess of Asturias gave speeches that were warmly received by all those present.
