48 Princess of Asturias Foundation ANNUAL REPORT 2020 PRINCESS OF ASTURIAS AWARDS. ORGANIZATION AND IMPACT Candidaturas 265 candidaturas, compuestas por 278 candidatos (158 hombres, 72 mujeres y 48 instituciones) procedentes de 55 países, se presentaron a los jurados para su estudio. De esas candidaturas, 36 fueron propuestas por 26 galardonados en ediciones anteriores. Un 56.83% de los candidatos fueron hombres, un 25.90% mujeres y un 17.27% instituciones. Se registraron más de 7400 escritos de apoyo, entre cartas, correos electrónicos y firmas de personalidades e instituciones de todo el mundo, destacando las procedentes de varios premios Nobel y un amplio número de galardonados con nuestros premios, además de embajadores, académicos, rectores, presidentes y decanos de universidades de todo el mundo, colegios oficiales y fundaciones, entre otros. More than 7400 letters, emails and signatures of support were received from public figures and institutions from around the world, with those from several Nobel Laureates and a large number of our own Laureates being worthy of mention, in addition to those from ambassadors, academics, rectors, presidents and deans of universities worldwide, official associations and foundations, among others.
