SEMANA DE LOS PREMIOS www.fpa.es Los 7 magníficos científicos • Número de centros: 38 • Número de trabajos: 1969 • Número de alumnos: 2010 Código científico • Número de centros:16 • Número de trabajos: 60 • Número de alumnos: 141 La Fundación planteó en «Los 7 magníficos científicos», actividad dirigida a estudiantes de Primaria, una aproximación a las figuras de Katalin Karikó, DrewWeissman, Philip Felgner, Uğur Şahin, Özlem Türeci, Derrick Rossi y Sarah Gilbert. La labor consistió en expresar con dibujos cómo actúan las vacunas y qué tipos hay, así como la contribución de cada uno de los premiados al desarrollo de algunas de las que han permitido combatir la COVID-19. Katalin Karikó, DrewWeissman, Philip Felgner y Derrick Rossi visitaron una exposición de estos trabajos en la Fábrica de Armas de La Vega, donde se encontraron con una representación de los estudiantes. Posteriormente mantuvieron un encuentro con alumnos de ESO que habían participado en la actividad «Código científico». En esta propuesta los participantes debían explicar en un vídeo de una forma precisa y amena los conceptos, mecanismos y tecnologías científicas implicadas en este hito. The Magnificent 7 Scientists • Number of schools: 38 • Number of projects: 1969 • Number of students: 2010 Scientific Code • Number of schools: 16 • Number of projects: 60 • Number of students: 141 The Foundation’s intention behind “The Magnificent 7 Scientists” activity was for primary school children to become familiarized with the figures of Katalin Karikó, DrewWeissman, Philip Felgner, Uğur Şahin, Özlem Türeci, Derrick Rossi and Sarah Gilbert. The task consisted in expressing how vaccines work and what types there are through drawings, as well as the contribution of each of the Laureates to the development of some of those that have made it possible to combat COVID-19. Katalin Karikó, Drew Weissman, Philip Felgner and Derrick Rossi visited an exhibition of these projects at La Vega Arms Factory, where they met with a delegation of the participating students. They subsequently held a meeting with secondary school students who had participated in the “Scientific Code” activity. The participants in this latter proposal had to explain in video format the scientific concepts, mechanisms and technologies involved in this milestone in a precise and entertaining way.
