Homenaje a Joaquín Rodrigo Sus Majestades los Reyes, con la asistencia por vez primera de Sus Altezas Reales la Princesa de Asturias y la Infanta Doña Sofía, presidieron el XXIX Concierto Premios Princesa de Asturias en homenaje al compositor Joaquín Rodrigo con motivo del 25.º aniversario de la concesión del Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Artes y del 120.º aniversario de su nacimiento. La Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, junto con el guitarrista Pablo Sáinz- Villegas y bajo la dirección del maestro Josep Vicent, interpretaron la Fantasía para un gentilhombre y el Concierto de Aranjuez . Este concierto, organizado por la Fundación Princesa de Asturias en colaboración con la Fundación Cajastur, se celebró el 21 de octubre en el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe, en Oviedo, la noche previa a la entrega de los Premios, con la asistencia de gran parte de los galardonados. Músicas de la ceremonia Una sección de cuerda de la Orquesta Oviedo Filarmonía, bajo la dirección del maestro Lucas Macías Navarro, interpretó el himno nacional de España al inicio de la ceremonia. La salida de premiados fue acompañada por música en directo a cargo de la Real Banda de Gaitas Ciudad de Oviedo y la Banda de Gaitas Vetusta, que también interpretaron el himno de Asturias al término de la ceremonia. Actos folclóricos Quinientas personas pertenecientes a veinte bandas de gaitas procedentes de catorce concejos del Principado de Asturias participaron en los actos celebrados con motivo de la entrega de los Premios Princesa de Asturias 2021. Las agrupaciones folclóricas arroparon a los galardonados, durante la jornada del viernes, en su recorrido desde el Hotel de la Reconquista al Teatro Campoamor. Asimismo, con motivo del acto de entrega del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias, las bandas de gaitas de Candás y Castrillón recibieron a la Familia Real a su llegada a Santa María del Puerto, donde la cantante Mari Luz Cristóbal interpretó una canción vaqueira. 29th Princess of Asturias Awards Concert. Folk Events Five hundred people belonging to twenty pipe bands from fourteen different boroughs of the Principality of Asturias participated in the events held to mark the 2021 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony. The folk ensembles provided accompaniment to the Laureates on the route from the Reconquista Hotel to the Campoamor Theatre on the Friday. Likewise, on the occasion of the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award Ceremony, the Candás and Castrillón Pipe Bands received the Royal Family upon their arrival in Santa María del Puerto, where singer Mari Luz Cristóbal performed a vaqueira song.
