Posteriormente, mantuvieron un encuentro con pastores representantes de la ganadería local de quienes recibieron explicaciones sobre las técnicas tradicionales de pastoreo, así como de las nuevas tecnologías de geolocalización y vallado virtual para el ganado. Seguidamente visitaron la exposición sobre el pasado minero de la localidad, con fondos gráficos cedidos por el Museu del Pueblu d’Asturies y la extinta Real Compañía Asturiana de Minas. A continuación, S.A.R. la Princesa de Asturias descubrió la placa conmemorativa del galardón y, tras el saludo a los miembros del jurado, visitaron el bar- tienda La Gallega, uno de los pocos establecimientos de estas características que perduran en la región. La visita continuó con un saludo a los representantes de los sectores hostelero, agroalimentario y turístico. Acto seguido pudieron contemplar una recreación del traslado de “La Jovera”, el tronco de un árbol que, según la tradición, los mozos plantan en el pueblo el día de la fiesta patronal. Posteriormente, la Familia Real visitó las instalaciones de la Quesería Maín, donde los propietarios explicaron la técnica de elaboración artesanal del queso de After the official welcome, the Royal Family began the visit with a walk to the Sotres scenic viewpoint accompanied by high mountain guides, on the 120th anniversary of the first ascent of Naranjo de Bulnes. They then met with herders as representatives of local livestock breeding practices, who described to them traditional grazing techniques, as well as new geolocation technologies and virtual fencing for livestock. After this, they visited an exhibition on the village’s mining past, with graphic archives provided by the Pueblu d’Asturies Folk Museum and the now defunct Royal Asturian Mining Company. Subsequently, HRH The Princess of Asturias unveiled a plaque commemorating the bestowal of the Award and, after greeting the members of the Jury, they visited the village shop-cum-bar known as “La Gallega”, one of the few establishments of this kind that still exist in the region. The visit continued with the Royal Family greeting representatives of the hospitality, agri-food and tourism sectors. They then saw a recreation of the transfer of “La Jovera”, the trunk of a tree which, according to tradition, the young men plant in the village on the Patron Saint’s Day.
