74 Princess of Asturias Foundation ANNUAL REPORT 2024 EXEMPLARY TOWN OF ASTURIAS AWARD Actos folclóricos Folk events Un total de ochocientas personas, integrantes de veinticuatro bandas de gaitas y diez grupos de baile procedentes de dieciocho concejos asturianos, participaron en los actos celebrados conmotivo de la entrega de los Premios Princesa de Asturias. Las agrupaciones folclóricas arroparon a los galardonados durante la jornada del viernes en su recorrido desde el Hotel de la Reconquista al Teatro Campoamor. La Real Banda de Gaitas Ciudad de Oviedo y la banda de gaitas Vetusta intervinieron en la ceremonia de entrega de los Premios Princesa de Asturias. Además, la banda de gaitas Picos de Europa y un grupo de pandereteras de Sotres participaron en el acto de entrega del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias. Conciertos de Semana Santa Extraordinary Easter Concerts Junto a la OSPA y con la participación de los solistas Serena Sáenz y Daniel Schmutzhard, el Coro de la Fundación ofreció dos conciertos extraordinarios de Semana Santa bajo la dirección del maestro Nuno Coelho. El Teatro Jovellanos de Gijón y el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe en Oviedo acogieron esta tradicional cita en la que se interpretó el Réquiem en re menor, Op. 48 de Gabriel Fauré. Alongside the OSPA and with the participation of soloists Serena Sáenz and Daniel Schmutzhard, the Foundation Choir offered two extraordinary Easter concerts under the baton of Maestro Nuno Coelho. The Jovellanos Theatre in Gijón and the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo hosted this traditional event in which Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in Dminor, Op. 48 was performed. In all, eight hundred people –members of twenty-four pipe bands and ten dance groups from eighteen Asturian boroughs– participated in the events held to mark the Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony. The folk groups lined the route as the Laureates were taken to the Campoamor Theatre in a motorcade from the Reconquista Hotel. The City of Oviedo Royal Pipe Band and the Vetusta Pipe Band performed at the Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony. Additionally, the Picos de Europa Pipe Band and a group of tambourine players from Sotres took part in the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award Ceremony.
