48 Princess of Asturias Foundation ANNUAL REPORT 2025 PRINCESS OF ASTURIAS AWARDS. ORGANIZATION AND IMPACT La Fundación convocó en noviembre de 2024 una edición extraordinaria del programa cultural para centros educativos «Toma la palabra» en conmemoración del décimo aniversario de Su Alteza Real la Princesa de Asturias como Presidenta de Honor de la institución y de la puesta enmarcha de este proyecto. La convocatoria se amplió por primera vez a centros invitados de ámbito nacional y registró una participación de 920 estudiantes de 55 centros del Principado de Asturias y otras comunidades autónomas. Las propuestas se articularon en torno a las humanidades y las ciencias y tomaron como referencia la obra deMary Beard, Premio Princesa de Asturias de Ciencias Sociales 2016, y la de SandraMyrna Díaz, Premio Princesa de Asturias de Investigación Científica y Técnica 2019, quienes regresaron a Asturias para participar en los actos de cierre del programa en los meses de febrero ymarzo de 2025. In November 2024, the Foundation convened an extraordinary edition of the “Taking the Floor” cultural programme for schools to mark both the tenth anniversary of Her Royal Highness The Princess of Asturias as the institution’s Honorary President and the launch of this project. The call was extended for the first time to invited schools at a national level and registered the participation of 920 pupils from 55 schools in the Principality of Asturias and other regions of Spain. The proposals focussed on the humanities and science and took as a reference the work of 2016 Princess of Asturias Laureate for Social Sciences Mary Beard and 2019 Princess of Asturias Laureate for Technical and Scientific Research Sandra Myrna Díaz, both of whom returned to Asturias to participate in the closing events of the programme in February and March 2025.
