PRINCIPIOS DE BUENAS PRÁCTICAS www.fpa.es PRINCIPIOS DE BUENAS PRÁCTICAS PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE As a member institution of the European Foundation Centre (EFC), the Princess of Asturias Foundation follows the principles of good practice developed by the foundation sector’s most representative association within Europe. As a result of joining the EFC in 2011, the Foundation has become part of an international working forum in which some of the foundations of major relevance and international scope in the European Union and other countries share their experience and knowledge, working together to achieve greater success in their philanthropic activities. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Brussels, the EFC has over 230 members from 40 countries. The EFC’s aims include professional capacity- building via principles of good practice that all its members must follow, the study of the legal and fiscal framework of foundations and participation in the development of said framework within the scope of EU legislation so as to advance the international activity of foundations, the exchange of knowledge and information and the recognition of the work carried out, as well as promoting collaboration among the foundations themselves and between these and other social agents. Como institución miembro del European Foundation Centre (EFC), la Fundación Princesa de Asturias sigue los principios de buenas prácticas desarrollados por la asociación más representativa del sector fundacional del ámbito europeo. Con su incorporación al EFC en 2011, la Fundación ha accedido así a un foro de trabajo en el que algunas de las fundaciones de mayor relevancia y proyección internacional de la Unión Europea y otros países comparten sus experiencias y conocimientos y trabajan conjuntamente para lograr el mayor éxito en sus acciones filantrópicas. Fundado en 1989 y con sede en Bruselas, el EFC cuenta con más de 230 miembros de 40 países. Entre sus objetivos se encuentran la capacitación profesional del sector a través de unos principios de buenas prácticas que todos sus socios deben asumir, el estudio del marco legal y fiscal fundacional y la participación en su desarrollo en el ámbito de la legislación de la Unión Europea para facilitar la actividad internacional de las fundaciones, el intercambio de conocimientos e información y el reconocimiento del trabajo desarrollado, así como la promoción de la colaboración entre las propias fundaciones y entre estas y otros actores sociales.
