85 Fundación Princesa de Asturias MEMORIA 2018 ÓRGANOS DE GOBIERNO Y ORGANIZACIÓN www.fpa.es Relevo en la Presidencia de la Fundación CHANGE IN THE PRESIDENCY OF THE FOUNDATION ÓRGANOS DE GOBIERNO Y ORGANIZACIÓN | GOVERNING BODIES AND ORGANIZATION Licenciado en Medicina por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Luis Fernández-Vega Sanz es doctor en Medicina y Cirugía, con premio extraordinario, por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Director del Instituto Oftalmológico Fernández-Vega de Oviedo, en 1980 ganó por oposición la plaza de profesor adjunto de Oftalmología de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Complutense y desde 1982 es catedrático de Oftalmología de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Oviedo. En ese mismo año, ganó la plaza de jefe de servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital Universitario Central de Graduate in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Luis Fernández-Vega earned his PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University, Madrid, receiving the Award for Special Achievement. Director of the Fernández-Vega Ophthalmological Institute in Oviedo, he obtained tenure as assistant lecturer in Ophthalmology at the Complutense University Faculty of Medicine in 1980 and the Chair in Ophthalmology at Oviedo University Faculty of Medicine in 1982. That same year, he was appointed Head of the Ophthalmology Service at the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA). He was formerly Luis Fernández-Vega Sanz fue elegido presidente de la Fundación por aclamación del Patronato de la institución en la reunión celebrada el 3 de abril de 2018 en Oviedo. Luis Fernández-Vega sucede en el cargo a Matías Rodríguez Inciarte que, tras diez años al frente de la Fundación, ha sido el cuarto presidente de la institución, después de Pedro Masaveu (1980-1987), Plácido Arango (1987-1996) y José Ramón Álvarez Rendueles (1996-2008). Luis Fernández-Vega Sanz was elected President of the Princess of Asturias Foundation by acclamation of the institution’s Board of Trustees at the meeting held in Oviedo on 3rd April 2018. Luis Fernández- Vega succeeds Matías Rodríguez Inciarte, who, after ten years at the helm of the Foundation, was the fourth president of the institution, after Pedro Masaveu (1980-1987), Plácido Arango (1987-1996) and José Ramón Álvarez Rendueles (1996-2008).
