SEMANA DE LOS PREMIOS AWARDS WEEK PREMIOS PRINCESA DE ASTURIAS | PRINCESS OF ASTURIAS AWARDS Starting in 1996, the Foundation has programmed different activities at various locations in Asturias on the occasion of the Awards Ceremony. The aim of these activities is to make the Laureates and their work better known to society at large. In 2019, more than 26 000 people participated in the 56 activities scheduled over a period of 8 days. These included audiovisual screenings, exhibitions, art installations, talks, concerts and debates, as well as the fifth edition of the “Taking the Floor” cultural programme for schools in the Principality of Asturias. The events commenced on 10th October with the opening of several installations in the facilities of La Vega Former Arms Factory in Oviedo. Furthermore, 18 201 people visited the Fine Arts Museum of Asturias during the “Habsburgs and Bourbons: Princes and Princesses of Asturias and Monarchs of Spain” exhibition, jointly organized together with the aforementioned museum and the Prado Museum. La Fundación programa desde 1996, con motivo del acto de entrega de los galardones, diferentes actividades en diversas localidades asturianas con el objetivo de acercar a la sociedad la figura y obra de los premiados. En 2019, más de 26 000 personas participaron en las 56 actividades programadas a lo largo de 8 días. Hubo proyecciones audiovisuales, exposiciones, instalaciones artísticas, conferencias, conciertos y debates y se celebró la quinta edición del programa cultural “Toma la Palabra” para centros educativos del Principado de Asturias. Los actos comenzaron el 10 de octubre con la inauguración de varias instalaciones en el recinto de la antigua Fábrica de Armas de La Vega, en Oviedo. Además, 18 201 personas visitaron el Museo de Bellas Artes durante la exposición “Austrias y Borbones: Príncipes y Princesas de Asturias, y Reyes de España”, que se organizó conjuntamente con el Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias y el Museo Nacional del Prado.
