ÁREA MUSICAL www.fpa.es Música durante el acto de entrega de los Premios Princesa de Asturias Tal y como sucedió en 1980 durante el acto de constitución de la Fundación Princesa de Asturias (entonces Fundación Príncipe de Asturias), la Orquesta de la Universidad de Oviedo intervino en el acto de entrega de los premios, coincidiendo con los 40 años de trayectoria de la institución. La orquesta, dirigida por el maestro Pedro Ordieres, interpretó el himno nacional de España al inicio del acto y la Pavana en fa sostenido menor, op. 50 , de Gabriel Fauré, durante la entrada de los galardonados. Asimismo, la salida de premiados tuvo acompañamiento musical en directo a cargo de la Real Banda de Gaitas Ciudad de Oviedo y la Banda de Gaitas Vetusta, que fue precedido de unas emotivas imágenes grabadas días antes en el Teatro Campoamor, donde ambas formaciones interpretaron el himno del Principado de Asturias. Además, en homenaje al maestro Morricone, su hijo, Andrea Morricone, dirigió Deborah´s Theme , pieza emblemática de la película Érase una vez en América , interpretada por un conjunto de cuerda. Music during the presentation of the Princess of Asturias Awards As occurred in 1980 during the constitution of the Princess of Asturias Foundation (then the Prince of Asturias Foundation), the University of Oviedo Orchestra performed at the presentation of the Awards, coinciding with the institution’s 40 years of activity. Conducted by Maestro Pedro Ordieres, the orchestra performed the Spanish national anthem at the beginning of the event and Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane in F sharp minor, Op. 50 , during the entrance of the Laureates. The Laureates likewise enjoyed live musical accompaniment by the City of Oviedo Royal Pipe Band and the Vetusta Pipe Band when departing, preceded by emotive images recorded some days before at the Campoamor Theatre, where both bands performed the anthem of the Principality of Asturias. In addition, in homage to Maestro Morricone, his son, Andrea Morricone, conducted Deborah’s Theme , an emblematic piece from the film Once Upon a Time in America , performed by a string ensemble.
