Prince of Asturias Award for Literature 2014

Statement by John Banville, on being bestowed with the 2014 Prince of Asturias Award for Literature:

“It is a great pleasure, and a great honour, to be the recipient of the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature 2014. I know what a wonderful prize it is, culturally and historically, and I am very proud indeed that my name should be added to the long list of great writers who have received it in the past”.
