ANNUAL REPORT 2014 OTHER ACTIVITIES. MUSIC DEPARTMENT
Coro inauguró este ciclo en el Auditorio de Pola
de Siero, junto al San Marino Chamber Choir
de Los Ángeles. El Coro Infantil participó
en el II Encuentro Coral Nacional Infantil-Juvenil
Ciudad de León, celebrado el 27 de abril en el
Auditorio de León. El 17 de mayo el Joven Coro
participó en el III Encuentro de Jóvenes Coros
de Asturias celebrado en el Teatro de La Laboral
de Gijón.
El Coro Infantil estrenó en el mes de mayo,
coincidiendo con los actos de la XXXV Selmana
de les Lletres Asturianes, la obra
Nora, Mauro y los
suaños
del compositor asturiano Nacho Fonseca, en
colaboración con la Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado
de Asturias y la Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático
de Asturias. La obra fue grabada y retransmitida por la
Radio Televisión del Principado de Asturias,
en dos conciertos celebrados en el Teatro de la Laboral
de Gijón. Con motivo del Día Internacional
del Libro y del Día Internacional de los Museos se
realizaron sendos conciertos en la Biblioteca “Ramón
Pérez de Ayala” y en el Museo Arqueológico de
Asturias, a cargo del Joven Coro y del Coro Infantil.
Con el deseo de compaginar su actividad
sinfónica con otra de carácter polifónico, los tres
coros retomaron en los meses de mayo y junio el ciclo
“Conciertos por Asturias” en las localidades de Nueva

Auditorium. The Children’s Choir participated in
the 2nd National Meeting of Children’s and Youth
Choirs of the City of León, held on 27th April in the
León Auditorium. On 17thMay, the Youth Choir
participated in the 3rd Meeting of Youth Choirs of
Asturias held in the Laboral Theatre in Gijón.
Coinciding with the events of the 35th Week of
Asturian Literature, the Children’s Choir premiered
Nora, Mauro and Dreams
by Asturian composer Nacho
Fonseca, in collaboration with the Principality of
Asturias Symphony Orchestra and the Asturias School
of Dramatic Arts. The musical was recorded and
rebroadcast by the Principality of Asturias Radio-
Television Corporation in two performances held in
the Laboral Theatre in Gijón. On the occasion of both
World Book Day and International Museum Day,
concerts were respectively given by the Youth Choir
and the Children’s Choir at the Ramón Pérez de Ayala
Library and the Archaeology Museum of Asturias.
Wishing to balance out their symphonic activities
with others of a polyphonic nature, the three
choirs resumed the “Concerts around Asturias”
series in May and June in the towns of Nueva
de Llanes, Teverga, Tineo, Tapia de Casariego,
Pola de Siero, Villaviciosa and Oviedo. The three
