Exposición sobre la obra cientí ca de Sir Gregory
Winter y Richard A. Lerner
Las investigaciones de Sir Gregory Winter y
Richard A. Lerner fueron objeto de una exposición
al aire libre realizada en colaboración con la
Asociación de Diseñadores Gráficos de Asturias. Los
dieciséis diseños que componían la muestra iban
acompañados de textos explicativos de Amador
Menéndez, miembro del Jurado del Premio Príncipe
de Asturias de Investigación Científica y Técnica. Los
trabajos fueron expuestos en el Campo San Francisco
de Oviedo y en la Plaza Domingo Álvarez Acebal de
Avilés entre el 20 y el 28 de octubre.

presidieron un desayuno de trabajo con inmunólogos
procedentes de varias universidades españolas
en el Centro Cultural de Extensión Universitaria.
Además, mantuvieron un encuentro con el público
en la Casa Municipal de Cultura de Avilés, en el que
participaron también Juan Luis Suárez, guitarrista de
El Sueño de Morfeo
, que aportó su experiencia como
enfermo de espondilitis anquilosante, y
la ex ministra Cristina Garmendia, miembro del
Jurado que concedió el Premio.
Exposición “Rafael Moneo. Obra Internacional”
Rafael Moneo pronunció una conferencia en el
Centro Cultural Cajastur Colegiata de San Juan
Bautista, que congregó a numerosos profesionales
de la arquitectura. A continuación inauguró en el
Palacio Revillagigedo la exposición “Rafael Moneo.
Obra Internacional” con maquetas de algunas de sus
edificaciones más destacadas.
La muestra permaneció abierta al público hasta el 13 de
enero de 2013. Además, impartió una clase magistral

The research of Sir Gregory Winter and Richard A.
Lerner was the subject of an outdoor exhibition held
in collaboration with the Association of Graphic
Designers of Asturias. The sixteen graphic designs
making up the exhibition were accompanied by texts
by Amador Menéndez, jury member for the Prince of
Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research.
The works were exhibited in the Campo San Francisco
Park in Oviedo and Plaza Domingo Álvarez Acebal in

Sir Gregory Winter and Richard A. Lerner chaired
a breakfast meeting with experts on the immune
system from several Spanish universities at
the University Extension Cultural Centre. They
also held a meeting with the general public at the
Municipal Culture Centre in Avilés concerning on
the main findings of their research. This event also
featured Juan Luis Suárez, guitarist of the
El Sueño
de Morfeo
pop-rock group, who brought his
experience as a patient with ankylosing spondylitis,
and the former minister Cristina Garmendia, a
member of the jury that bestowed the award.
“Rafael Moneo. International Works” Exhibition
Rafael Moneo gave a talk at St John the Baptist
Collegiate Church, Cajastur Cultural Centre, which
brought together many professionals in the field
of architecture. After the talk, he opened the
exhibition “Rafael Moneo. International Works”,
which includes models of some of his most important
buildings. The exhibition was open to the public until

January 2013. He also gave a lecture on Asturian
Pre-Romanesque at Santa Maria del Naranco attended

La Semana de los Premios Príncipe de Asturias
volvió a acercar el testimonio directo y la obra de los
galardonados al conjunto de la sociedad asturiana a
través de un amplio programa de actividades. Entre
los días 20 y 26 de octubre se organizaron 16 actos de
diversa índole en Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés y Mieres que
incluyeron exposiciones, mesas redondas, desayunos
de trabajo y homenajes. Alrededor de 14.000 personas
disfrutaron de esta programación cultural en la que
también participaron artistas, músicos, académicos,
corresponsales, videocreadores, miembros de los
jurados y galardonados con los Premios Príncipe de
Asturias de pasadas ediciones.
Once more, the Prince of Asturias Awards Week
brought the work and direct testimony of the
Laureates to Asturian society at large through an
extensive programme of activities. Sixteen different
kinds of events were organised between 20
th
and
26
th
October in Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés and Mieres,
including exhibitions, panel discussions, working
breakfasts and tributes. Over 14,000 people enjoyed
this cultural programme, which also involved
the participation of artists, musicians, academics,
correspondents, video game creators, jury members
and laureates bestowed with the Prince of Asturias
Award in previous editions.
