“Arquitectura: el futuro, en construcción”
Frank O. Gehry y Rafael Moneo, Premio Príncipe
de Asturias de las Artes 2012, debatieron sobre
arquitectura en un acto conducido por la también
arquitecta Benedetta Tagliabue en LABoral Centro de
Arte y Creación Industrial (Gijón). El Centro acogió
la exposición “Sobre el terreno”, que incluyó 11
maquetas, fotografías, vídeos y 30 bocetos personales
de la obra de Gehry en España, y que se pudo visitar
hasta el 12 de enero de 2015.
Carrera Popular “La Gran Manzana”
La Fundación organizó, en colaboración
con el Ayuntamiento de Gijón, la I Carrera Popular
“La Gran Manzana” con motivo de la concesión
del Premio de los Deportes al Maratón de Nueva
York. Un total de 3.500 personas participaron
en esta carrera junto a integrantes del equipo español
de maratón galardonado con el Premio Príncipe
de Asturias de los Deportes 1997, y los atletas Tegla
Loroupe (Kenia), Germán Silva (México)
y Alessandra Aguilar (España). La directora
del Maratón de Nueva York, Mary Wittenberg,
impartió una conferencia en el Palacio
de Revillagigedo (Gijón) bajo el título “Empezar
a correr”, que contó con los testimonios de los atletas
Tegla Loroupe y Germán Silva.
“Architecture: the future in construction”
Frank O. Gehry and Rafael Moneo, 2012 Prince
of Asturias Award for the Arts, discussed architecture
in an event chaired by architect Benedetta Tagliabue
at the LABoral Centre for Art and Industrial Creation
(Gijón). The Centre housed the “From the Ground Up”
exhibition, which included 11 models, photographs,
videos and 30 personal sketches of Gehry’s work
in Spain and was open to visitors until 12th January
2015.
“Big Apple” Fun Run
In collaboration with the City of Gijón,
the Foundation organized the 1st “Big Apple” Fun Run
to mark the conferral of the Award for Sports
on the New York City Marathon. Some 3,500 people
in all participated in this run alongside members
of the Spanish marathon team bestowed with
the 1997 Prince of Asturias Award for Sports and
athletes Tegla Loroupe (Kenya), Germán Silva (Mexico)
and Alessandra Aguilar (Spain). Mary Wittenberg,
director of the New York City Marathon, gave a talk
entitled “Begin to run” at the Revillagigedo Palace
(Gijón), which also featured testimonials from athletes
Tegla Loroupe and Germán Silva.
