Princess of Asturias Awards 10/15/2017

RTVE to provide the host broadcasting service for the Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony

The press conferences to be given by the Laureates will be broadcast over the Internet

As on previous occasions, the Spanish public service television and radio companies Televisión Española (TVE) and Radio Nacional de España (RNE) will be responsible for providing the official host signals for the solemn Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony, to be held next Friday, 20th October, starting at 6:30pm, at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo. TVE will also be providing the television signal for the audience of TM The King and Queen with the Laureates, which will take place on Friday at 12:30pm in the Reconquista Hotel’s “Salón Covadonga” hall.

RNE will provide the audio signal from the dressing rooms in the Campoamor Theatre to all the radio networks, while TVE will distribute the television signal. Media interested in using the official signal should get in touch beforehand with:

The areas specially designated for news editors at the Campoamor Theatre will be Main Boxes 9, 11 and 13 in the Dress Circle (“Principal”). Due to the limited space available, you are advised to follow the ceremony from the screens situated in the Foundation press room at the Hotel Barceló Oviedo Cervantes (Calle Cervantes, 13, Oviedo).

AWARDS WEEK EVENTS

  • "A Barely Extended Course of University Extension”. Les Luthiers will participate in a talk/meeting aimed at the general public. The event will take place on Monday, 16th October, starting at 7:30pm in the “Paraninfo” (Great Hall) in the University of Oviedo’s Historic Building.
    Television cameras will only be allowed inside the hall for the first 15 minutes of the event.
  • “Paper Music”. William Kentridge’s work Paper Music –an ingenious, moving and subtly subversive combination of songs and films– will be represented at this event. The event will take place starting at 8:00pm on Wednesday, 18th October, in the Palacio Valdés Theatre, Avilés.
    The media will only be allowed inside the theatre for the first 5 minutes of the event.

An audio distributor (Canon-XLR and Mini-jack outputs) will be made available to the media.

26th Princess of Asturias Awards Concert

Recordings may only be made inside the hall before the start of the concert. Video images will be made available via FTP to media interested in obtaining images of the performance, to be held at the Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo starting at 7:30pm on Thursday, 19th October.

All the press conferences given by the Laureates will be broadcast over the Foundation’s website.

The graphics of the laureates´ events will be available in the Virtual Press Room (VPR) on the web site www.fpa.es
