Premios Princesa de Asturias 10/11/2019

General programme for the visit of TM The King and Queen of Spain and TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía on the occasion of the 2019 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony

THURSDAY, 17th OCTOBER

  • 5:00pm Arrival of TM The King and Queen and TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía in Oviedo.
    Plaza de Alfonso II (the cathedral square).
    IMPORTANT: the press will be convened at 4:00pm on Calle del Águila.

  • 7:30pm TM The King and Queen will preside over the 28th Princess of Asturias Awards Concert, organized by the Princess of Asturias Foundation and the CajAstur-Liberbank Foundation. The Princess of Asturias Foundation Choir will perform alongside the Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra (OSPA) under the baton of Crístobal Soler. The programme, which will comprise a selection of opera and zarzuela pieces, will also count on the participation of soloist Carlos Álvarez (baritone).

FRIDAY, 18th OCTOBER

  • Audiences in the “Salón Covadonga” at the Reconquista Hotel
    With TM The King and Queen and TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía.

    11:20am University of Oviedo 2018 End-of-Studies Prize winners.

    11:40am 2019 Medals of Asturias holders.

    12 noon Princess of Asturias Foundation Patrons.

  • 12:30pm Audience of the chairs of the Juries, the members of the Princess of Asturias and Foundation Boards of Trustees and the 2019 Princess of Asturias Laureates with TM The King and Queen and TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía.

    IMPORTANT: one photographer and one news writer will be allowed access per media.

  • 6:30pm 2019 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony, presided over by TM The King and Queen and with the presence of TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía.
    Speech by HRH The Princess of Asturias.
    Address by HM The King, closing the ceremony.

  • 11:45am Visit to Asiegu (Cabrales) by TM The King and Queen and TRH The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía for the bestowal of the 2019 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award.

    Speech by HM The King, closing the event.
