Princess of Asturias Awards 10/14/2019

RTVE to provide the official host signal for the Princess of Asturias Award ceremony

The press conferences to be given by the Laureates will be broadcasted over the Internet

Events with special coverage


As on previous occasions, the Spanish public service television and radio companies Televisión Española (TVE) and Radio Nacional de España (RNE) will be responsible for providing the official host signals for the solemn Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony, to be held at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo this coming Friday, 18th October, starting at 6:30pm. TVE will also be providing the television signal for the audience of the Laureates with TM The King and Queen, The Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía, which will take place on Friday at 12:30pm in the Reconquista Hotel’s “Salón Covadonga” hall.

RNE will provide the audio signal from the dressing rooms in the Campoamor Theatre to all the radio networks, while TVE will distribute the television signal. Media interested in using the official signal should get in touch beforehand with:

The areas specially designated for news writers at the Campoamor Theatre will be Main Boxes 7, 9, 11 and 13 in the Dress Circle (“Principal”). Due to the limited space available, you are advised to follow the ceremony from the screens situated in the Foundation’s press room at the Hotel Barceló Oviedo Cervantes (Calle Cervantes, 13, Oviedo).


  • “Talk: Migrations in the development of the global capitalist system and its present relevance for Spain, and meeting: Taking the Floor. Crossed Passports.” Alejandro Portes, 2019 Princess of Asturias Laureate for Social Sciences, will give a talk on migratory movements and their contribution to global capitalism, as well as their contribution to the current situation in Spain. The event will take place in the Regional Parliament of the Principality of Asturias, starting at 12 noon on Thursday, 17th October.
    The Regional Parliament will provide a signal for the meeting to the media that so wish through their institutional host signal and an audio distributor (XLR output). No television cameras will be allowed into the event.

XVIII Concierto Premios Princesa de Asturias

Recordings may only be made inside the auditorium before the start of the concert. Video images will be made available through the Princess of Asturias Foundation’s Online Press Room to those media interested in obtaining images of the performance, which will take place at the Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo starting at 7:30pm on Thursday, 17th October.

All the press conferences given by the Laureates will be broadcast over the Foundation’s website.
