TM The King and Queen meet with the members of the Boards of Trustees of the Princess of Asturias Foundation

TM The King and Queen are to meet with the members of the Boards of Trustees of the Prince of Asturias Foundation at the Royal Palace of El Pardo today, Friday 16th June, at 12 noon.

A detailed report on the work carried out throughout 2016 will be presented during the meeting as well as a report on the financial situation and assets of the Foundation, which has ended the year with positive net income and a similar level of expenditure to that of the previous year. The overall expenditure of the Foundation in 2016 amounted to 5.15 million euros.

The institution’s Annual Report, which contains figures and information related to the activities undertaken throughout the year, will be presented to the members of the Boards of Trustees during the meeting. The most significant activities comprise the granting and presentation of the Princess of Asturias Awards and the arrangements for the cultural week surrounding Awards Ceremony. Last year, these included thirty free events open to the public, attended by some 15,000 people. A report will also be given on the work of the Music Department, which organized thirty-nine concerts by the Foundation’s three choirs as well as a new edition of the International Music School Summer Courses. These were opened under the presidency of HM The Queen and attended by over 155 students from seven different countries.
