TM The King and Queen meet with the members of the boards of trustees of the Princess of Asturias Foundation

Their Majesties The King and Queen are to meet with the members of the Princess of Asturias Foundation’s Boards of Trustees at 11:00am today, Thursday 22nd June, at the Royal Palace in Madrid.

A detailed report on the work carried out in 2022 will be presented during the meeting, as well as a report on the financial situation and assets of the Foundation, which ended the year with positive net income. The Foundation’s overall expenditure in 2022 amounted to 5.6 million euros.

The institution’s Annual Report will be presented to the Trustees during the meeting. Among the details and information related to the activities undertaken throughout 2022, the most significant correspond to the granting and presentation of the Princess of Asturias Awards and the arrangements for the corresponding cultural week surrounding the latter event. Last year’s “Awards Week” comprised 67 events, all open to the public and free of charge, which were attended by 23 555 people. This cycle of events included concerts, artistic installations, stage shows, films, meetings with the public, working breakfasts, round tables, exhibitions and workshops. Furthermore, the cultural programme for schools in the Principality of Asturias received 5773 participations by pupils from 103 schools.
