TRH The Prince and Princess of Asturias will preside over the XXI Prince of Asturias Awards Concert, organised by the Prince of Asturias Foundation and Cajastur, which will be held at 8:00pm next Thursday, 25th October, in the Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo.

Maestro Rossen Milanov, designate conductor of the OSPA, will conduct this concert for the first time, which is strictly by invitation only. This will also be the first time the Foundation’s three choirs perform together on a stage. In all, 185 voices will perform a symphonic-choral work by Shostakovich: 70 child, 35 youth and 80 adult voices.

The Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra will open the concert with Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, Op. 28 by Richard Strauss and then perform The Song of the Forests, Op. 81 by Dmitri Shostakovich, accompanied by the three Prince of Asturias Foundation choirs and the solo voices of Sergey Romanovsky (tenor) and Alexander Vinogradov (bass).
