Place: IES Carreño Miranda state secondary school. Avenida de Cervantes, 26. Avilés.

Haruki Murakami meets with a delegation of the teachers and 3rd and 4th year secondary and baccalaureate students who have participated in the “Taking the Floor” cultural programmes for schools activity inspired by his work. The “Mura–Kamis” activity dedicated to the 2023 Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature is based on the proposal that the author received to write for a magazine about a selection of the more than two hundred t-shirts that form part of his collection. From this initiative was born his book Murakami T: The T-Shirts I Love (2021) in which he reviews topics such as sources of inspiration. Based on his story Tony Takitani and the idea that originated it, the students were asked to be inspired by their own collection of t-shirts to write a story and, in addition to that story, share with the public the element of the garment of the t-shirt that emerged and the image of it.
