Heroes of Fukushima

Prince of Asturias Award for Concord 2011

 “We have received many warm messages of solidarity and affection from all sectors of Spanish society for the Great Earthquake of Eastern Japan. The granting of this award in honour of those known as the heroes of Fukushima will hearten and encourage those affected by the earthquake and tsunami as well as those people displaced by the accident at the nuclear plant, in addition to securing the road to reconstruction. On behalf of the Japanese people, I wish to convey my deepest appreciation for this recognition, which is an example of Spain’s solidarity with Japan and the Japanese people”.
