Prince of Asturias Award for Sports 2013

Statement by José María Olazábal, on being bestowed with the 2013 Prince of Asturias Award for Sports:

"I was somewhat surprised to receive the news of the Prince of Asturias Award. The truth is that I expected it to be for Teresa Perales, because she represents the quintessence of pushing back the limits in Paralympic sports.

I must admit, however, that I feel deeply moved, proud, satisfied, grateful and, above all, that our beloved sport of golf has its place in the hearts and minds of so many people.

The incomparable Seve Ballesteros forged a path that is gradually being consolidated.

Sincerely very thrilled, thank you all."
