Statement by Joanne Chory on being bestowed with the 2019 Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research

“I am tremendously honored to have been chosen for this prestigious award alongside ecologist Sandra Diaz. With the impending threat of climate change, humanity is at a fundamental crossroads, and the opportunity for science and technology to make a difference has never been greater. I am deeply grateful that my training as a biologist may allow me to contribute to a better future for generations to come.”
