Princess of Asturias Award for Literature 2023

Statement by Haruki Murakami following the conferral of the 2023 Princess of Asturias Award for Literature.

“I am very grateful that you have distinguished me on this occasion with this prestigious Princess of Asturias Award.

You have made me reconsider the fact that my books are in the hands of many people around the world and so it is inevitable that I feel a great joy as a novelist. I am also really looking forward to be able to visit once again your beautiful country, Spain, of which I have such pleasant memories.”
