Taking the Floor: “Machines that Think and Learn”, with Yann Lecun and Demis Hassabis.
Date and time: Wednesday, 26 October 2022. 12:00PM h.
Place: Yard. La Vega Arms Factory. Oviedo.
A meeting with primary schoolchildren who participated in the “Taking the Floor” cultural programme activity. Via illustrative drawings, the pupils interpreted the underlying concepts of AI, which imitates human thought and its learning processes, as well as its applications in everyday life in techniques such as image and voice recognition, and assistance in medical diagnosis, among others. In the exercise, they were also asked to imagine a possible use of AI that contributes to achieving one of the seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Duration: 60 minutes.
