Princess of Asturias Awards

Eduardo Mendoza, Byung–Chul Han, Graciela Iturbide and Mario Draghi are to give speeches at the 2025 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony

Eduardo Mendoza, Byung–Chul Han, Graciela Iturbide and Mario Draghi are to give speeches at the 2025 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony

Writer Eduardo Mendoza, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature; philosopher Byung-Chu Han, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Communication and Humanities; photographer Graciela Iturbide, Princess of Asturias Laureate for the Arts; and economist and politician Mario Draghi, Princess of Asturias Laureate for International Cooperation, are to give speeches at the forty-fifth Awards Ceremony. 

To be held on Friday 24th October at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo, the Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony will be presided over by Their Majesties The King and Queen, with the presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofía.

Simultaneous translation will be available throughout the entire theatre during the ceremony in five languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian and German. The ceremony will be accessible to persons with hearing impairment by means of sign language interpretation at the Campoamor Theatre itself, as well as via the Foundation website. The theatre will also be provided with a hearing induction loop system. 

 

LAUREATES

Princess of Asturias Laureate for Communication and Humanities Byung-Chu Han, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature Eduardo Mendoza, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Social Sciences Douglas Massey, Princess of Asturias Laureate for the Arts Graciela Iturbide, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Sports Serena Williams, Princess of Asturias Laureate for Technical and Scientific Research Mary-Claire King, and Princess of Asturias Laureate for International Cooperation Mario Draghi have confirmed their attendance at the ceremony.

The National Museum of Anthropology of Mexico, granted the Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, will be represented by the museum’s director Antonio Saborit and Madeleine Bremond Santa Cruz, president of its Board of Trustees.
