Organized by the Princess of Asturias Foundation in partnership with the Cajastur Liberbank Foundation, the 34th Princess of Asturias Awards Concert will be dedicated to the composer Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) and will be performed by the Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra (OSPA) and the Foundation Choir. Both ensembles will interpret a selection of movements from Symphony No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 52, Lobgesang (Song of Praise), under the baton of the OSPA’s principal conductor Maestro Nuno Coelho, and will be accompanied on stage by sopranos Sylvia Schwartz and Pilar Alva-Martín and tenor Santiago Ballerini.
