Ordinary meeting of the Princess of Asturias Foundation Board of Trustees
Held today in Oviedo
The Princess of Asturias Foundation Board of Trustees held its annual accounts meeting at the Reconquista Hotel in Oviedo today, during which the audit report and management report corresponding to the financial year 2025 were presented.
In addition to hearing reports from the institution’s president, Ana I. Fernández, and director, Teresa Sanjurjo, the Trustees were presented with the Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report. They were also informed as to financial situation and assets the institution, which ended the year with positive net income and a level of expenditure (7.8 million euros) somewhat higher than that of the previous year. The comprehensive annual report will be published on the Foundation website https://www.fpa.es/en/ on 23rd June.
The members of the Board of Trustees have approved the incorporation into the Princess of Asturias Board of Trustees, an honorary body, of the Uría Menéndez law firm, which already figured as a Patron of the Foundation. The firm will be represented on the Board by its managing partner, Salvador Sánchez-Terán.
Also on the agenda was the approval of the Regulations governing the 2027 Princess of Asturias Awards and Exemplary Town of Asturias Award.
2025 Activities Report
Among the details and information related to the activities undertaken throughout 2025, the most significant correspond to the granting and presentation of the Princess of Asturias Awards and the arrangements for the cultural week surrounding the latter event. Last year’s Awards Week comprised 80 events –all open to the public and free of charge– which were attended by around 40 400 people. Furthermore, the cultural programme for schools “Toma la Palabra” received 9213 participations by pupils from 159 schools.
