Oviedo is to host the exhibition titled “Felipe VI. A decade of history of the Spanish Crown”, organized by the Permanent Deputation and Council of Grandees of Spain and the Cultural Foundation of the Spanish Nobility, in collaboration with the Princess of Asturias Foundation. The aim of the exhibition is to commemorate the institutional work of His Majesty The King on the tenth anniversary of his reign. Conceived as a nationwide project, the show has toured various cities throughout the year until reaching Oviedo, which will be the final leg of its tour.

The exhibition can be visited from 26th September to 31st October at the University of Oviedo’s Historic Building. Visiting hours will be Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; on Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and on Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Its opening will take place at 7:00pm on the 25th. The event will be attended by Ana I. Fernández, President of the Princess of Asturias Foundation, and María Cristina de Ulloa y Solís-Beaumont, Duchess of Arcos and Dean of the Council of Grandees of Spain.

Via a documentary video and more than twenty large-format photographs, the exhibition reflects the most important institutional moments of the decade of his reign, such as the proclamation of His Majesty The King by the Spanish Parliament and the oath of allegiance to the Constitution sworn by HRH The Princess of Asturias, as well as family photos, including the last photo of King Felipe and Queen Letizia with their daughters in the Campo del Moro gardens.

Since its opening by Their Majesties The King and Queen at the Royal Palace in Madrid, the exhibition has been on show at iconic venues such as the Alhambra in Granada, the Alcázar in Seville, the Royal Cavalry Academy in Zaragoza, the Dukes of Soria Foundation, the Provincial Council Palace in Ciudad Real, the Historical Archives Building in Cáceres, Málaga Museum, the Palace of the Captaincy General in La Coruña, the Almudín Building in Valencia, the King’s Hospital in Melilla, the Naval School in Marín and the Almudaina Palace in Palma de Mallorca.

The exhibition is curated by academics Enrique Moradiellos and Publio López Mondéjar, specialists in History and Fine Arts, respectively, while the museography of the show is the work of Francisco Bocanegra. As a complement, a free periodical publication has been published to accompany the exhibition.
