The Princess of Asturias Foundation has put together a broad-ranging programme comprising over seventy cultural activities to mark the Princess of Asturias Awards, now in their forty-fifth year. Under the title “Awards Week”, the programme will take place between 16th and 25th October in Avilés, Colombres, Gijón, Oviedo and San Martín del Rey Aurelio.

- At 10:00am on Saturday 11th October for the activities to be held between 16th and 19th October.
- At 10:00am on Saturday 18th October for the activities to be held between 20th and 25th October.
An online queuing system will be enabled to access the platform in both registration phases.
This year’s programme includes concerts, film cycles, exhibitions, art installations and group workshops. The Laureates will participate in meetings with the public, meetings with experts in their respective fields and activities with pupils from various schools in Asturias. Since 1996, the Foundation has scheduled different activities in diverse locations in Asturias aimed at making the Laureates and their contributions to the world of science, culture or any other field in which they work better known to society at large.
Furthermore, the tenth edition of the “Taking the Floor” cultural programme for schools has comprised seven activities that seek to make the merits and professional careers of the Laureates better known to the educational community. In addition to including schools in the Principality of Asturias, this year’s programme has been extended to invited schools nationwide. Since its launch in March 2015 up until the 2024 edition, the programme has registered more than 55 747 participations by primary, secondary, baccalaureate and vocational training students from 259 schools in the Principality.
This cycle of activities, corresponding to the forty-fifth edition of the Princess of Asturias Awards, has counted on the institutional collaboration of Spain’s Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with Parliament and Democratic Memory, the Ministry of Defence, the Principality of Asturias Regional Government, the Principality of Asturias Regional Parliament, Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés Municipal Councils, the University of Oviedo, the Cajastur Foundation and Hunosa.
